This is not just another article on Indian hockey.  This is something that needs serious thinking and consideration.  If the following is already in place in Indian Hockey ... make it widely known among YOUNG indians aggressively and in the media.

1.  If a lazy game like cricket can constitutionalize itself in India, can the "National Game" not be just popularized among Indians.  How? solicit corporate India for sponsorship.  Please leave the govt bodies out of this.  We all know what happens when govt intervenes -- Indian hockey is already experiencing it.

2.  If a lazy , sun-bath oriented game could become a religion, why not a game w/ skill and speed at the least come to the spot light and be on the main stream in Indian games arena?  Form a non-profit non-govt local Hockey coalition and support the cause and promotion of the game.

3.  Let the Indian corporate world aware of what our national game is .. and let them realize the importance of promoting this.

4.  Form local \ city based hockey clubs or teams sponsored by a local business(s).  Making it or owning a team or sponsoring a team a BUSINESS and pride for the sponsors.  Keep away any govt. involvement in this.

5.  Pay the players from the revenue of the matches that they play and pay them accordingly to their talents.

6.  Slowly make all of the above into a program from players development to game development to marketing of the game, the club, the business that sponsors and evenetually make everything into a competitive business. 

Well, just like the way football is being played in Europe, basketball and baseball are being played in the USA.

Remember: NEVER ever involve any govermental bodies in any of the above.
