Eight of the current Pakistan hockey team players have confirmed their participation in India’s Premier Hockey League (PHL) in and are awaiting clearance from the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) for the same.
Talking to newsmen on Wednesday, the former Pakistan team captain Rehan Butt, who played for Banglore’s Lions last year, said: , “Our participation in the Premier League has been accepted by its authorities and we are awaiting PHF approval in the league.
If allowed, we would leave for India in the second week of December to play the league matches.”
The Premier Hockey League will begin from December 15 in the Indian city of Chandigarh.
The eight Pakistani players who showed interest in the PHL includes Rehan Butt, Ghazanfar Ali, Salman Akbar, Shakil Abbasi, Zeeshan Ashraf, Dilawar Bhatti, Kashif Ali and Adnan Maqsood.
